In his role, Ryan provides research to support CAS’ Multi-Cap investment strategy and supports the development of investment proposals and custom portfolio analysis. Prior to the April 2024 acquisition of the CAS division, the firm was defined as Wilbanks Smith & Thomas Asset Management, LLC (“WST”), an SEC registered investment adviser headquartered in Norfolk, VA, where Ryan served as Research Analyst & Trader. Prior to joining WST, he worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for Rowe Furniture where he focused on strategic planning and leading pricing initiatives and held the role of Financial Analyst with Lawrence Companies, a mid-market diversified transportation firm.

Born and raised in Blacksburg, Virginia, Ryan relocated to Roanoke where he received his Bachelor’s degree from Roanoke College. He is a CFA Charterholder.
