James Barsella

James Barsella is a Senior Managing Director at Clearstead, where he supports both institutional and private wealth clients. He has been working in the financial services industry since 1993, joined Clearstead in 2023, and is a Clearstead Shareholder

James brings expertise in retirement plan consulting, institutional investments, client service, and human resources. Before joining Clearstead, he served as Managing Director – Investments and Senior Institutional Consultant at Legacy Strategic Asset Management of Wells Fargo Advisors. He also held roles as Manager of Retirement Plan Consulting and Client Service at Fidelity Investments, and Regional Human Resource Manager and Manager of Benefits at Baker & Taylor in Chicago. Throughout James’s career, he has led client-focused initiatives and advisory teams across multiple financial disciplines.

James obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Finance from Eastern Illinois University and his Master of Science degree in Industrial Relations from Loyola University, Chicago.
