James D. Awad

James D. Awad is a Senior Managing Director at Clearstead, where he provides investment management services to families and non-profit organizations, including the development of investment policy, asset allocation advice, and manager due diligence. He has been working in the investment and trust administration industry since 1992 and joined Clearstead in 2012

James brings expertise in investment policy development, asset allocation, and manager due diligence. Before joining Clearstead, he served as Managing Director of Plimsoll Mark Capital, now a Portland, Maine-based division of Clearstead Advisors, LLC. Throughout James’s career, he has led investment advisory initiatives and served a broad range of institutional and individual clients.

James obtained his MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University, where he majored in Commerce. He has served on the boards of Seeds of Peace, The Abraham Fund, The Spence School of New York, and The Berkshire School in Massachusetts. He is a retired member of the Dean’s Council at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and a past Deacon and member of the investment committee at Brick Church. James is also a member of the Bank of America Global Wealth Management Administrative Committee and the Economic Club of New York.
