Joseph D. Boushelle, CFA, CAIA

Joseph D. Boushelle is the Senior Managing Director, Alternatives at Clearstead, where he supports the firm’s alternative investments platform and asset allocation framework. He has been working in the investment management industry since 2001, joined Clearstead in 2012, and has been a shareholder since 2017.

Joe brings expertise in sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring alternative strategies—including hedge funds, real assets, private equity, and private credit—as well as developing and implementing customized alternative investment programs and overseeing asset allocation. Before joining Clearstead, he worked as an analyst at the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, and held research roles at JPMorgan, covering credit and equity markets. He also served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Throughout Joe’s career, he has led investment research initiatives and strategic portfolio development.

Joe obtained his BA in Economics from the University of Chicago, his MBA with Distinction from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management, and holds both the CFA and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations.
