Mark Warden

Mark Warden is a Senior Managing Director at Clearstead, where he supports client relationships and contributes to investment research and portfolio management. He has been working in the financial services industry since 2001 and joined Clearstead in 2024.

Mark brings expertise in investment research, portfolio strategy, and distressed debt analysis. Before joining Clearstead, he served as Principal and Portfolio Manager at Wilbanks Smith & Thomas Asset Management, LLC (“WST”) until it was acquired by Clearstead, and prior to that, he was Vice President and Head of Investment Research at a regional investment advisory firm, having begun his career in banking roles specializing in bankruptcy and distressed debt restructuring. Throughout Mark’s career, he has led analyst research initiatives and supported strategic investment efforts.

Mark graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with a degree in Commerce and earned a Master of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. He currently serves on the boards of Old Dominion University Educational Foundation, Hospice House of Hampton Roads, Barry Art Museum, and Norfolk Employees’ Retirement System.
