Phil Bonelli is a Senior Managing Director at Clearstead, where he supports high net worth individuals, institutions, endowments, and foundations in designing, monitoring, and implementing investment and financial planning strategies. He has been working in the financial services industry since 1997 and joined Clearstead in 2026.
Phil brings expertise in investment management, wealth planning, fiduciary consulting, institutional investment advisory services, and retirement plan consulting. Before joining Clearstead, he was a Partner at myCIO Wealth Partners, where he worked from 2007 until joining the firm. Prior to myCIO, Phil was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a member of PwC’s Institutional Services Group for defined contribution plans. Earlier in his career, he held roles at SEI Investments, where he was responsible for strategic advisor relationships throughout the western United States, and Merrill Lynch, where he served as a Financial Advisor. Throughout Phil’s career, he has advised individuals, institutions, endowments, foundations, and retirement plans on investment strategy, portfolio oversight, and fiduciary best practices.
Phil obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Villanova University and his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Saint Joseph’s University. He holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation, earned through the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School in conjunction with the Investments & Wealth Institute, and is an active member of the Institute. Phil has also passed the NASAA Series 66 examination and holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation. He is actively involved in the professional investment advisory community through his membership with the Investments & Wealth Institute.
