Thomas M. Seay

Thomas M. Seay is the Senior Managing Director, Research at Clearstead, where he supports the evaluation and monitoring of fixed income strategies and assists consultants with related inquiries. He has been working in the investment management industry since 1978, joined Clearstead in 2012, and has been a shareholder since 2017.

Tom brings expertise in institutional fixed income management, manager due diligence, and investment committee leadership. Before joining Clearstead, he served as Chief Investment Officer for Fixed Income in the institutional investment management division of a major regional bank, where he led a team of over 30 professionals managing portfolios for pension funds, endowments, foundations, Taft-Hartley funds, insurance companies, and mutual funds. Throughout Tom’s career, he has led fixed income research and portfolio management initiatives.

Tom obtained his BS in Business Administration with a major in Finance from the University of Denver, and his MBA from The University of Virginia’s Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. He also serves as a co-chair of the Clearstead Investment Committee.
