Alex Shannon
Alex Shannon is a Managing Director, Business Development at Clearstead, where he supports business development opportunities with both institutional and private wealth clients. He has been working in the financial services industry since 2018, joined Clearstead in 2023, and has been a shareholder since 2025.
Alex brings expertise in business development, client engagement, and philanthropic strategy. Before joining Clearstead, he worked as a Financial Consultant for Legacy Strategic Asset Management of Wells Fargo Advisors and served as a development officer at Akron Children’s Hospital. Throughout Alex’s career, he has led initiatives focused on strategic growth, community engagement, and donor development.
Alex earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Akron, a Master of Business Administration from Malone University, and a Master of Science in Business Psychology from Franklin University. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member of the Phi Delta Theta Ohio Epsilon Scholarship Committee and as a Trustee for the Frank J.R. Mitchell Scroll Endowment Fund. Previously, Alex served as Board President of the Stark State College Foundation Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Finance Council for the Newman Center at Kent State University. He is also a member of Akron Community Foundation’s Emerging Philanthropists class and Leadership Akron Class 36. Alex was recognized by the University of Akron Alumni Association in 2019 as part of its inaugural 5 Under 35 class and by Phi Delta Theta in 2022 in its inaugural 30 Under 30 cohort.
