Dan Burns, CFA

Dan Burns is a Senior Investment Analyst/Portfolio Manager at Clearstead Avalon Trust, where he supports investment research and portfolio management for client accounts. He has been working in the financial services industry since 1999 and joined Clearstead in 2011.

Dan brings expertise in tax planning, equity research, and investment strategy. Before joining Clearstead, he worked with Deloitte & Touche in San Francisco providing tax advice to Fortune 500 corporations, private equity groups, hedge funds, and high-net-worth individuals, and later transitioned into investment management as an equity research analyst at Beekman Capital, an institutional growth stock manager based in Santa Fe. Throughout Dan’s career, he has led research initiatives and supported clients with complex financial planning and investment needs.

Dan obtained his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Spanish from the University of California – Davis and his MBA with a concentration in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Dan currently serves on the Governing Council of The Academy for Technology and the Classics, a college preparatory school in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
