He has been working in the financial services industry since 2015 and joined Clearstead in 2026.

Sugar brings expertise in multi‑asset investment strategy, private capital evaluation, and family office advisory services. He spearheads the Seattle office’s Private Capital Review, evaluating private equity and venture capital investments across client portfolios. Before joining Clearstead, he was an Associate Advisor at a Seattle‑based multi‑family office supporting the delivery of comprehensive and customized investment and family office solutions. Previously, Sugar served as Chief of Staff at Blue Wood Capital, co‑operating a private equity search fund, and began his career at Hall Capital Partners, where he managed multi‑asset class global portfolios for single family offices, endowments, and foundations.

Sugar obtained his degree in Economics from Whitman College and is currently an MBA candidate at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business.
