Patrick Barry, J.D.

Patrick Barry is a Senior Managing Director at Clearstead Avalon Trust, where he supports clients with estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer strategies. He has been working in the legal and wealth management industry since 2010 and joined Clearstead in 2025.

Patrick brings expertise in estate, gift, and tax planning, business succession, charitable giving, and trust and estate administration. Before joining Clearstead, he practiced estate planning law in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he focused on helping clients achieve financial, personal, and tax objectives through customized planning strategies. Throughout Patrick’s career, he has led initiatives involving family business management, mineral and real estate planning, and represented estates and trusts in contested proceedings involving fraud and undue influence.

Patrick obtained his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Virginia. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Santa Fe Estate Planning Council, has served as a Board Member for Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families, volunteered with the New Mexico State Bar and the Santa Fe Children’s Museum, and has been recognized by the First District Court for his pro bono service to low-income New Mexicans.
